Santoro Gorjuss Girls are ON SALE!

Just wanting to send out a quick post letting you all know that the Santoro Gorjuss Girl Stamps are on SALE!  These little girls are so fun to colour, and depending on how you colour them changes the whole mood of your card! The samples below have all been coloured by me with the exception of the first one which I recently saw by Crystal Schneider, at www.crystaljustus.blogspot.com and it is stunning!

She has coloured it using Spectrum Noir markers and Spectrum Noir Aqua Tints (which are incredible).

I hope you find some inspiration from these photos and enjoy the great prices!!

#maplesyrupmonday with Catherine Pooler Designs

Have you tried Catherine Pooler inks yet??? If the answer to that question is a no, then you need to grab yourself a few and give them a try!!

I brought this line into the shop a few months back and it has since become a favorite for many people, including myself! The inks lend themselves so well to a variety of techniques but for this card I chose to simply go with straight up Stamping!

For the Stamp Set I chose the “Eat, Sleep, Create” Set and the new ink colours that were just released: Grape Crush, Be Mine, Limoncello and All That Jazz along with the awesome Midnight Black Ink which is also great to use with alcohol markers as well as watercolouring, talk about versatile eh!?

I matted the card front onto a piece of Black Tie Gala paper (also by Catherine Pooler).

In case you are unfamiliar with the #maplesyrupmonday posts, Laurie from It’s All Cut and Die and myself have teamed up to show you projects biweekly featuring companies we love all just tonhave a bit of fun, and we like to give things away on occasion too 😉

Please follow our Instagram accounts and post your makes with #maplesyrupmonday to be in to win!

Beach Bums!

I personally LOVE doing the 30 day Daily Marker Colouring Challenge on Instagram…I don’t normally manage to get the full 30 days….ok, so I haven’t actually yet, but this time I am going to try VERY hard!

For this card I have used NEW products to my shop, I have JUST brought in The Greeting Farm stamps, which are pictured below, and Nuvo have just released their Shimmer Powders which are SO MUCH FUN!

I made the background a few days ago playing with the Nuvo Shimmer powders for the first time and had a card in mind using the New Greeting Farm “Beach Bums” stamp set.

The background I made by spritzing some water colour card stock well and then adding Nuvo Shimmer Powder in “Atlantis Burst” and “Blue Blitz”.  Once the shimmer powder dries (I used a heat gun) it is set and the mica does not rub off, which is great!

I cut the fringe that was on the towel in the stamp set to make to look a little more like an air mattress as I wanted both of these little cuties in the water.

All of the colouring is done using Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers 🙂

Catherine Pooler Ink Review

If you haven’t tried Catherine Pooler’s Inks yet, you really must! I have tried and tested out MANY brands of inks and have liked some, disliked some and loved some….these however have soared above them all!

Here are some of my favourite things about them:

  • the variety of colours is not only large (and still growing) but they are fun and colour the range from soft, bright, subtle, vibrant and rich!
  • the foam pads are a dream to stamp with, the coverage on to your stamp is pretty perfect! You can also ink your project taking the pad direct to paper.
  • these inks blend beautifully sung a mini ink blending tool and are awesome to use in stencils!
  • they layer VERY well (as you can see in the photo below)
  • the ink pad is juicy but doesn’t need to be reined constantly!

Catherine Pooler has a whole range of products in addition to the inks including: Stamps, Dies, Stencils, Acrylic Blocks, Cardstock and Paper (all found in my shop).

I highly recommend you trying not only the inks but the other products in the range also, you won’t be disappointed! To that end I want to also mention that The Company as a whole is one of the best I have had the opportunity to work with!

Anyway, this is just a quick little ink review, all opinions are my own and I am happy to answer any questions you may have!

More #maplesyrupmonday with Stamping Bella

So the last #maplesyrupmonday post was a little light spa here is another 🙂

For This card I have chosen the Stamping Bella “Uptown Zodiac Girl Virgo”.  I am totally not. into the zodiac at all, but some of these stamps lend themselves very well to other purposes.

Here is a quick tutorial for this card:

  1. Cut a piece of Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth cardstock and stamp your image.
  2. Colour Using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers in AP3, AP2 and AP1.
  3. To make the folds in the dress a made some dark “crease” areas with the AP3 and gradually blended out with AP2 and then AP1.
  4. Deepen the dark areas with AP3 and the blend all over with AP2 leaving slight highlights of the lightest AP1.
  5. Using a ColourBlend pencil in “geranium” deepen the shadows on the dress.
  6. Now don’t look to close at the hair as it was messed up, but I liked the rest of the card, so I went with it, it is also coloured with ColourBlend Pencils.
  7. In order to protect the image before distressing the background I used masking fluid on her hair as it was super think to cut out on masking paper.
  8. Stamp out the image in masking paper, don’t worry about the hair as you have the masking fluid, stick on top of your coloured image.
  9. Using a mini blending tool and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink apply ink onto the background.
  10. Apply a little Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink to the edges and then some Vintage Photo Distress ink along the edge as well.
  11. Peel off the masking paper and then use your finger to rub off the masking fluid.
  12. I used the “Heartfelt Sentiments” stamp set buy Altenew paired with “icing on the Cake” Ink by Catherine Pooler.
  13. Using a small flower stamp from the “Birds of a Feather” Stamp set by Catherine Pooler stamp randomly around the background using Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink.

Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial!
