Picket Fence Studios + Spectrum Noir = Beauty!

I had a lot of fun making this card last night. I have had the Picket Fence Studios Dany Girl Stamp set, set aside for a little while wanting to colour it!

Here is how I made it:

  • Cut a piece of Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth Cardstock to 16cm x 12.5 cm
  • Line up your Dany Girl Stamp to the lower right hand side of the card and stamp onto Spectrum Noir Finesse Alcohol Proof Ink.
  • Colour using Spectrum Noir Markers.
  • Using Masking Fluid, cover your coloured image and allow to dry.
  • Using your Picket Fence Life Changing Blending Brushes and Spectrum Noir Harmony Water Reactive Inkpads in the Verdant Green Trio Pack blend a mix of the 3 ink colours,
  • Choose a funky stencil and ink through the stencil using your brushes.
  • Stamp your sentiment in the darkest green then re-stamp using your Wow! Embossing pad and sprinkle on come clear embossing powder and heat set.
  • Rub off the masking fluid.
  • For the embossing powder around the edge I mixed my own colour using some Wow Embossing powders in: Champers, Metalline Green and Lime Rickey. Mix these in an empty Wow Embossing Powder jar.
  • Using your Wow Freestyle tool ink the edge of the card and sprinkle with your mix, heat set.
  • Apply some Spectrum Noir Metallic Wax through your Stencil.
  • Draw some swirls with your Art Glitter Glue and Sprinkle on some glitter, allow to dry.
  • Matt and Layer with Neenah heavyweight card and Gold Luxury cardstock.

So….Picket Fence Studios + Spectrum Noir = Beauty!

Hello Gorjuss!

I really love the Pattern Play Circles by Altenew. I’ve used it in different cards as the main stamp but I also think it makes a brilliant background like in this card.

For the background I used Catherine Pooler Midnight Ink to stamp the circles, then Wow! Embossing Ink pad to stamp in some of the circles and sprinkled with Wow! City of Angels Embossing Powder and heat set.

I have used one of the Large Santoro Gorjuss Girls (we have three different ones in stock) and coloured her using Spectrum Noir Markers.

I found the perfect sentiment for this card in the Honey Bunn Stamp Set by Mama Elephant.

More #maplesyrupmonday with Stamping Bella

So the last #maplesyrupmonday post was a little light spa here is another 🙂

For This card I have chosen the Stamping Bella “Uptown Zodiac Girl Virgo”.  I am totally not. into the zodiac at all, but some of these stamps lend themselves very well to other purposes.

Here is a quick tutorial for this card:

  1. Cut a piece of Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth cardstock and stamp your image.
  2. Colour Using Spectrum Noir Illustrator Markers in AP3, AP2 and AP1.
  3. To make the folds in the dress a made some dark “crease” areas with the AP3 and gradually blended out with AP2 and then AP1.
  4. Deepen the dark areas with AP3 and the blend all over with AP2 leaving slight highlights of the lightest AP1.
  5. Using a ColourBlend pencil in “geranium” deepen the shadows on the dress.
  6. Now don’t look to close at the hair as it was messed up, but I liked the rest of the card, so I went with it, it is also coloured with ColourBlend Pencils.
  7. In order to protect the image before distressing the background I used masking fluid on her hair as it was super think to cut out on masking paper.
  8. Stamp out the image in masking paper, don’t worry about the hair as you have the masking fluid, stick on top of your coloured image.
  9. Using a mini blending tool and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink apply ink onto the background.
  10. Apply a little Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink to the edges and then some Vintage Photo Distress ink along the edge as well.
  11. Peel off the masking paper and then use your finger to rub off the masking fluid.
  12. I used the “Heartfelt Sentiments” stamp set buy Altenew paired with “icing on the Cake” Ink by Catherine Pooler.
  13. Using a small flower stamp from the “Birds of a Feather” Stamp set by Catherine Pooler stamp randomly around the background using Tattered Rose Distress Oxide Ink.

Hope you enjoyed this little tutorial!
